Today we held a swearing in ceremony for senior, David Letts, into the National Guard. About 100 students, David's family and officers of the National Guard were in attendance. We amazingly proud of this young man for his future service!

Students in Mrs Nekola’s Physical Science class gathered data, then calculated how high they could jump on planets with various gravities.
Today, in Mr. Weinert’s Anatomy Class, Maggie Bowman who is a midwife, came in to talk about her profession to our students. It was an eye opening and inspiring experience for them.
This week in Mrs. Rodriguez’s Children’s Literature class, students created paper bag presentations based on myths or folktales of their choice.

Exploration Beyond Earth classes with Ms. Wise worked in groups to plan Mars missions. Students were tasked with designing rockets, choosing supplies, and deciding which scientific experiments would be conducted. Today we did a gallery walk and graded each other’s projects. Great work students!

Congratulations!… the following student’s works of art has been chosen for the
annual MAEA District Art Exhibition. Only five pieces each in the elementary & high school level are allowed. The Michigan Art Education Association (MAEA) offers this unique opportunity to showcase outstanding artwork produced by students from all regions throughout the state of Michigan.
The Heritage Museum of Newaygo will host this year’s show. They are located at 12 Quarterline St, Newaygo, MI 49337
The exhibition will be open to the public from the 3rd to the 26th of February.
There will be an awards reception on February 7th from 10-2. These pieces have been done by, Ava Hickenbottom, Keely O'Harra, Rian Whiteside, Elizabeth Hornacek, Marguerite Robe respectively.

The 2026 Spartan Chess team opened their season with a 16-9 victory on the road over host Fremont HS. MCC was led by Freshman captain, Hudson Miller who went undefeated, 5-0 in individual match play. Great season opening win Spartans!
