The WSESD and the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee sponsored its 8th annual "Make a Difference" Awards at WSCC on Friday night, June 2.
This special event recognizes the outstanding people, agencies, and businesses throughout Lake, Mason, and Oceana County that have significantly and positively impacted the education and success of students with special needs.
We would like to send out a Huge Congratulations to MCC general education teachers Jon Hackney and Ron Tyndall who both teach in our Middle School. They were both recognized for their dedication and hard work and received engraved plaques at the event!

Good morning! We would to start this holiday weekend by sending out our congratulations to the MCC Upper Elementary Students' of the Month for May - 3rd grade: Tracy Slone, 4th grade: Easton Coon , and 5th grade: Kaylea Robotham! I would also like to mention the dates of the upcoming grade level end of the year field trips - 3rd grade is going to Lewis' Farms on June 6th and Ludington State Park on June 8th; and our 5th graders will be going to the Traverse City Pit Spitters baseball game on June 7th! AFFEW (A Few Friends for the Environment of the World) has 2 kids' events coming up. The bird hike is co-sponsored with the Sable Dunes Audubon Club. Another partner is MSU and Kendra Gibson, community nutrition instructor, is holding a program for kids ages 7-8 yrs of age. Each event is limited and requires advance registration.
