MCC Family,
The second trimester of this school year has concluded and the third trimester is underway. Grades for the 2nd trimester will be posted on Friday of this week and you will be able to see final grades on the parent portal.
We are very pleased to inform everyone that our ELA department attended the Michigan Reading conference about Silent Sustained Reading (SSR). They also had ESD ELA teachers in to view their classes and methods. Becky Gerhart and Katarina Moore presented at the conference.
In addition, The Science department attended the Michigan Science Teachers Association conference. They brought back good ideas and Mr. Weinert is working on a project and funding for the DNA unit in biology.
With the turn of the new trimester, we are calculating if students have qualified for long-lunch Friday. Please ask your child if they qualify per our Spartan Way 3 As program (Attitude, Attendance, and Academics). Also, after the 3rd week of the trimester students that have no absences and no tardies will go into a random draw to win a $25 gift card for Taco Bell. All that qualify will receive a long lunch Thursday for meeting that criteria. Remember, Showing up is Job #1!
