A team from Michigan State University is assisting the City of Scottville in promoting walking to school, by asking parents about their concerns about their children walking to school. With the help of this survey, Scottville will be able to make decisions regarding what sidewalks will need to be built or improved. Additionally, Scottville will examine other suggestions or concerns related to walking safety. This survey will take approximately two minutes, is completely anonymous, and will help to create a safer Scottville.

Dear MCC School Family, Today at lunchtime some of our High School students witnessed the brandishing of a pistol at an off-campus location. Upon arriving back at school, they let the office staff know and law enforcement was contacted immediately . Through witness statements it was determined there was not any direct threat toward our school buildings. But out of an abundance of caution while law enforcement located the individuals in question, the buildings were placed in a secure mode and a large police presence arrived to monitor our campus while the search for the alleged suspects took place. Both of the alleged subjects involved have been located and placed in custody by law enforcement. MCC Schools is operating under normal operating procedures at this time. Thank you for your trust and patience while we navigated this fluid situation. Stay Strong Spartans!!
Mason County Central Families,
All schools are currently in a soft lockdown. out of an abundance of caution. There is no immediate threat to students. School will dismiss as normal, with a police presence while we investigate an off-campus situation. We will provide an update within the hour.
